About Saif Rizvi

Long interested in the phenomenal and deeper aspects of moving and static images, while influenced by masterful European development of art and film techniques, Saif Rizvi attempts to use light and color with modern manipulation to achieve unique results whether in his films, books, or paintings.

People often yearn for older techniques, but there is nothing like infusing them with the latest human achievement. Digital has been embraced by Hollywood and now digital and mixed media have become platforms for most paintings to be initially executed on whether they end up on canvas or not. Films have the advantage of telling a more concrete and complete story with the Director’s vision, while the painting is now a vestigial classic art form versus video, but still can loosen a powerful grand orchestra of imagination to run riot in the mind.

Paintings and films are very important to communicate with the mind, though the artist and the observer usually come away with totally different opinions, much to my delight. The open-ended nature of interpretation keeps Art something of a necessity to ward off the “Alzheimeric” effects of daily-life and aging. Friedrich Nietzsche developed the famous aphorism, “Art is God”. The rewards of being alive are not to be enjoyed after death, but today and right now. Super-sensuality must be embraced whole-heartedly today and not tomorrow for a better existence in the Now.
